The CDAA Cave Course is designed to advance the skills of divers who already hold a Basic Cave qualification, preparing them for the unique challenges of cave diving in Australia’s world-renowned limestone systems. This course familiarises participants with both the theoretical knowledge and practical techniques necessary to safely explore CDAA-defined cave environments.

Cave sites are characterised by enclosed bodies of water with overhangs, silt, darkness zones, and passages large enough for two divers to swim side by side and turn around together. The course emphasises safety protocols, dive planning, equipment use, anti-silting techniques, line work, emergency procedures, and cave conservation. Training includes a mix of classroom theory, land drills, and a series of dives in CDAA-rated Cavern and Cave sites, typically centred around the Mount Gambier region.
