The SDI/TDI Divemaster Course at Good Divers is your gateway to becoming a professional diver and leader in the underwater world. This intensive program combines advanced training, hands-on experience, and leadership development, preparing you to supervise certified divers and assist instructors in training new divers. PreRequirements:
• Minimum age: 18 years old
• Certified as a Rescue Diver (or equivalent certification)
• Logged at least 40 dives before starting the course
• Logged at least 60 dives before certification
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen Provider certification
• General good health and strong swimming ability
What you will learn:
The SDI/TDI Divemaster Course equips you with the skills to lead, assist, and mentor divers at a professional level:
• Leadership & Supervision: Learn to guide certified divers and supervise diving activities
• Assisting Instructors: Gain experience in helping instructors train students in confined and open water
• Advanced Dive Theory: Deepen your knowledge of physics, physiology, decompression models, and dive planning
• Risk Management & Emergency Response: Master problem-solving, rescue techniques, and diver safety
• Equipment Handling: Understand gear maintenance, troubleshooting, and dive shop operations
• Environmental Awareness: Learn how to protect marine ecosystems and promote responsible diving
Course content:
📌 Knowledge Development
• In-depth classroom sessions on diving physics, physiology, decompression theory, and dive leadership
• Understanding of SDI/TDI professional standards, risk management, and diver supervision
📌 Confined Water Training
• Skill mastery in buoyancy, trim, rescue drills, and assisting student divers
• Scenario-based training for handling real-world dive situations
📌 Open Water Dives
• Guiding and assisting certified divers in real-world dive environments
• Supervising training dives, problem-solving, and emergency response simulations
• Final assessments on leadership, problem-solving, and professional-level diving skills
📌 Final Evaluation
• Completion of written exams, practical leadership assessments, and dive skills evaluations
• Upon successful completion, receive SDI/TDI Divemaster Certification, qualifying you to lead dives and assist in professional training
