TDI Intro to Tech

PreRequirements:
Minimum age: 18 years old.
Certified Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent certification).
General good health and adequate swimming skills.
Previous experience in deep diving or nitrox diving is recommended but not mandatory.
What you will learn:
The TDI Intro to Tech course focuses on providing you with a strong foundation in technical diving:
Equipment Configuration: Learn about the unique requirements for technical diving equipment, including harnesses, twin tanks, and stage cylinders.
Gas Management: Understand gas consumption rates, managing multiple cylinders, and switching gases during a dive.
Decompression Theory: Explore the principles of decompression, dive planning, and minimizing risks during technical dives.
Propulsion and Trim Techniques: Master buoyancy control, body positioning, and efficient propulsion for technical diving environments.
Safety and Emergency Protocols: Learn problem-solving skills, including handling out-of-air scenarios and equipment failures.
Course content:
Day 1: Classroom Training
Overview of technical diving and its applications.
Comprehensive lessons on gas management, equipment setup, and decompression theory.
Dive planning essentials, including redundant systems and risk management.
Day 2: Confined Water Session
Hands-on practice with technical diving equipment, including assembly and configuration.
Buoyancy and trim training, propulsion techniques, and emergency drills in a controlled environment.
Day 3: Open Water Dives
Dive 1: Practice essential skills such as gas switching, trim, and equipment handling.
Dive 2: Advanced propulsion and buoyancy techniques in a real-world setting.
Dive 3: Emergency response scenarios and equipment failure drills.
Day 4: Final Dives and Certification
Dive 4: Complete a simulated decompression dive while practicing gas management and safety protocols.
Dive 5: Master final technical skills in an open water environment.
Debriefing and certification as a TDI Intro to Tech diver.
